BEd./ MEd. (hons) Primary Education – External Examiner vacancy

 

The BEd./MEd(hons) Primary Education (Ofsted Outstanding, 2018) is seeking an external examiner to start in September 2018. This is a popular programme where:

·         Leaders strive successfully for excellence and continuous improvement

·         High-quality training enables all trainees and NQTs to develop into confident, competent and committed professionals.

·         Trainees’ and NQTs’ strong breadth of subject knowledge and their ability to reflect on their teaching ensures that they clearly focus on promoting pupils’ learning

Nominees should have an academic/professional qualification appropriate to the BED/MEd, and will have current expertise and experience to maintain academic standards within higher education. Ideally, nominees should have sufficient, relevant examining experience, preferably having acted as an external examiner.

The external examiner role includes schools visits, scrutiny of academic work, attendance at examination boards in June each year, followed by a submission of an annual report.

The appointment will run from September 2018 to August 2022 and will be remunerated in accordance with the University’s external examiner fee schedule, in addition to reimbursement of all travel, subsistence and accommodation costs associated with the role.
