Archives& Local Studies Researcher

 

Location:         Somerset Heritage Centre, Brunel Way,Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton TA2 6SF

 

Hours:             37 hours per week. Includesoccasional evening and weekend work.

 

Salary:             £20,231 per annum
 Contract:         Fixed term contract, for three years in the first instance. Theremay be the potential for extension, subject to resources.
            

The South West Heritage Trustprovides museum, archive and historic environment services within the countiesof Somerset and Devon.

We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused person toundertake research on behalf of membersof the public and other enquirers, to deliver our Research Service. You willoversee the smooth operation and development of this service and will have theopportunity to assist with public engagement about the archive service. Therewill also be regular work as part of a team providing advice to thepublic on the use of archival sources, overseeing the public searchroom andanswering enquiries.

The post is based at the SomersetHeritage Centre in Taunton, occasional travel to other sites may be required.
