There was an eighteenth or early nineteenth-century sketch of the wellhouse which accompanied an article by Chesca Potter in the first number of Source - 1st ser 1 (1985). A pen-and-ink copy was used as the cover picture (no scanning in those days) but she doesn't say where she got it from. Does anyone know its provenance? All running close to the River Fleet. St. Chad’s Well was to be found at the junction of St. Chad’s Place and Gray’s Inn Road.
