Books, Readers, and Reading: Celebrating 250 Years of the Leeds Library, Leeds, 20-22 September 2018

To celebrate the long and illustrious history of the Leeds Library, the Library, together with the three universities in Leeds, is hosting an international
conference on the history of books, of readers and of reading from Thursday 20 to Saturday 22 September 2018. Taking place at venues around the city centre, over 80 speakers from 13 countries will be presenting papers on a diverse range of subjects including:
libraries, the history of reading and readers, literary forms and genres, the future of the book and the library, the history of books and the material production and the culture of the book.
The keynote speakers are:
Professor Kate Flint (University of Southern California)
Professor Ian Gadd (Bath Spa University)
Professor N. Katherine Hayles (Duke University)

Registration is available
here. Full registration (3 day rate) costs £100 for students, postgraduate students, and Leeds Library members before June 30 or £150 from July 1. Full registration for all other delegates costs
£120 before 30 June, or £160 from 1 July.
Day rates are £65 per day (Thurs/Fri) or £30 (Sat).
