Hi Cath

Still on SIP2 here in Leeds Public Libraries with Capital LMS and Bibliotheca kiosks.

I’m very keen to see how LCF develops but things seem to have gone a bit quiet with our suppliers so far.

Subject: SIP2, LCF or NCIP?

Dear colleagues,

I wonder if anyone from the list can help?  Our RFID kit uses the SIP2 protocol to talk to our LMS (and I suspect that this is the case for most people).  I’m aware of two other protocols/methods: LCF and NCIP.

I’ve just started learning a bit about LCF and have been looking at the BIC website and other places but I can’t ascertain if it is in use or how widespread this usage of LCF is.  I’d be very interested to know whether anyone is using LCF or NCIP in the UK.

Any and all help very much appreciated!

Best wishes,
