STRATEGIES FOR CAREER SUCCESS: NETWORKING, PUBLISHING AND FUNDING
25th – 26th October 2018, University of Sussex, Brighton, UK
Abstract submission deadline: Thursday 2nd August 2018
This conference will give PhD students and early career researchers (within 5 years after finishing a PhD) the opportunity to network, collaborate and socialise with others working in regional and urban studies, planning, geography, politics,
development studies, economics and related fields. This is an annually run conference and previous participants particularly valued the invaluable feedback received, new ideas and learning how to strategically develop and enhance their profiles for career
progression.
The conference will bring together a range of international participants from different disciplines to present and debate their work in a welcoming, supportive and stimulating environment. Participants will be able to enrich their engagement
with contemporary research in the field and share their learning.
Experts in academic publishing, funding and impact will be present during the conference and provide insights into how to publish in academic journals, how to build a professional network, how to promote your publications, how and where
to apply for funding and how to increase the impact of your work.
