I am not sure if Francesco intended to reply to the list, but he does raise the difficult issue of the affordability of RTI training -- a skill that is important for documenting, preserving, researching and making accessible cultural heritage -- yet the cost of its acquisition can be beyond many budgets these days.
Here at UCL we have tried to reduce the costs of our 4-day RTI training courses best we can, bearing in mind the costs of acquiring and maintaining our equipment and retaining our central London location as well as covering the preparation and other time costs of a qualified freelance trainer. We appreciate that £1200 (£1000 concession rate) is a good chunk of change, but this is not far off other technical trainings of this sort. Very few of our running costs are covered at the institutional level.
We would love to offer bursaries such as Francesco seeks, and would be interested in working with individuals and institutions who might like to assist us in applying for/raising funds to make this training accessible to their students, researchers as well as museum, library and archive professionals. Note that from time to time Cultural Heritage Imaging offer bursaries for their excellent training courses in both RTI and Photogrammetry. I highly recommend! http://culturalheritageimaging.org/What_We_Offer/Training/

Our training/consulting can come to your site! CHI experts can deliver a 4-day training class in RTI or photogrammetry (or both)—optionally with consulting services—at your institution for groups of up to 15 people.
