Thanks for this feedback Stephen. I believe many of us are in the same position - in students not having a central place to hold student feedback unless it's custom built. I'm just surprised Blackboard and other LMS do not cater for this need, it's quite fundamental.

Another big problem is getting marks/feedback into a student management system. At my previous university in New Zealand we played around with the Grades Journey tool but in the end built our own tool (transferring marks only).

Hello everyone, 
 
We are looking around at Assessment Feedback systems - whereby summative (and perhaps formative) feedback is given online centrally, processed via the normal assessment route, marks fed into the Student Information System (SIS) and the marks/feedback then released to students. This space would hold all the students feedback collectively - but an individual student would be able to access all their feedback centrally from day one. 
 
I don't think Blackboard is able to do this job and perhaps a more bespoke system would answer this brief - but happy to be corrected here.
 
I remember some years ago the OU had a system (bolted to Moodle) whereby a student would upload work and receive assessment feedback. I'm not sure if this integrated with the SIS - the feedback was put directly in the student's Word document and this was returned to the student along with an Assessment Summary (htm file).  
 
If you are able to share any information about such a system/process or similar, I'd be extremely grateful. Just trying to find out what tools are out there to fit the bill.
