Submission Deadline: 31 May 2018

This stream welcomes abstracts and presentations on metaheuristics, from theory to practice, and including all flavours of approaches.
We invite abstracts and presentations, either theory or practice-oriented (preferably on real world applications) that discuss any of (but not limited to) the issues of:
- Metaheuristics including evolutionary or population based methods (such as, tabu search, simulated annealing, iterated local search, genetic algorithms, memetic algorithms, ant colony optimization, particle swarm optimization).
- Systems to build systems, particularly (meta/hyper-)heuristics or any other related (adaptive, self-tuning, reactive, self-improving, etc.) methods.
- Interplay between data science (machine learning, statistics, etc.) and metaheuristics.
- Developing the analytical /theoretical understanding of (meta/hyper-)heuristics.
We are particularly interested in:
- Methods that are based on or improved/integrated with data science techniques and/or allow a more general use of meta-heuristics and heuristics e.g. hyper-heuristics or adaptive search control systems.
- Analyses that lead to some insight into the behaviour of one or more metaheuristics. For example, but not limited to, landscape analysis, stochastic analysis methods or modeling.
If you would like to give a talk in this stream, please submit a title and abstract of no more than 300 words via
http://www.theorsociety.com/Pages/Conferences/OR60/OR60Abstract.aspx
by selecting 'Metaheuristics' as the stream.
(For those who are not familiar with the OR conferences, the usual procedure is to submit a title and an abstract, and then if accepted, to give a talk of 20-25 minutes. A full paper or extended abstract is not required.)
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best wishes,
Stream Organisers
