Dear colleagues,

Berghahn Books got in touch with information about a new book that may be of interest to SocRel members. The book is CONTEMPORARY PAGAN AND NATIVE FAITH MOVEMENTS IN EUROPE: Colonialist and Nationalist Impulses edited by Kathryn Rountree. The paperback version was just released last month, and the publisher has offered a 25 per cent discount using the following code:  BSA518 This is valid through June 1, 2018, and it works for individual orders placed directly with the publisher on the Berghahn website.

Pagan and Native Faith movements have sprung up across Europe in recent decades, yet little has been published about them compared with their British and American counterparts. Drawing on ethnographic cases, contributors explore the interplay of neo-nationalistic and neo-colonialist impulses in contemporary Paganism, showing how these impulses play out, intersect, collide, and transform.

“…the volume does a fine job of employing descriptive and ethnographic material to highlight the complex interworkings of the analytically-distinguishable but practically-interacting traditionalism and eclecticism.”  Anthropology Review Database
