The Oxford Society for the Caspian and Central Asia is pleased to announce three upcoming talks:


Marianne Kamp (Indiana University), "Hunger and Potatoes: The 1933 Famine in Uzbekistan, and Changing Foodways”

Tuesday 29 May 2018, 5pm, Lecture Room 6, New College, Oxford


Paolo Sartori (Institute of Iranian Studies, OEAW, Vienna), "Twilight of the Persianate: The Vernacularization of Central Asia (18th - early 20th Centuries)”

Thursday 31 May 2018, 5pm, Conduit Room, New College, Oxford


Alexey Ulko (Independent Scholar, Samarkand), “Visual Representation of Recent Political Changes in Central Asia”

Tuesday 12 June 2018, 5pm, Conduit Room, New College, Oxford


All three talks will follow our usual  format - a talk at 5pm followed at 6.15-6.30 by an informal reception. All welcome!
