The role that the arts, culture and heritage can play in improving citizens' health and wellbeing is increasingly recognised. The recent Arts Council Wales publication Arts and Health in Wales<http://www.arts.wales/arts-in-wales/arts-and-health> makes a powerful case for cultural participation to improve mental health, dementia and Parkinson's, for example. The National Alliance for Museums, Health & Wellbeing<https://museumsandwellbeingalliance.wordpress.com/> in England has recently published a report on the contribution museums make.

There is a clear link between economic disadvantage and health inequality, as well as participation in cultural activity, so there remain particular challenges in helping those who may need most support.

We are aware that a huge amount of good work is happening in this field across Wales within museums, archives and libraries. MALD is looking for ways to understand, promote and facilitate the work of the sector in supporting health and wellbeing outcomes:
* We would like to collect a broad range of examples and case studies that reflect where good practice is happening.
* We would also like to know your views on what more could happen to help the sector deliver even greater impact in this field.

For the purpose of this piece of work, we are looking at examples where museums, archives or libraries have implemented or partnered on work that has been designed primarily to enable improvements to people's health and wellbeing. Examples could include an intervention or project you have implemented or supported, a regular service you provide, or changes you have embedded within your organisation.

Case Studies
Please describe concisely (no more than 500 words preferably):
* Why you decided on the particular course of action
*       How you targeted participation
*       the activity itself
* who you worked with, including health care professionals
* the outcomes you achieved and how you collected evidence of impact on participants
* Any evaluation you or others carried out on your project
* What the impact on your organisation has been

Other Information
We would also like your views on what could happen to enable the sector to carry out further work in this area to extend benefits, for example:
* any training or networking opportunities that you would like to access (please provide details)
* guidance, resources and case studies
