Hi Sarah,
Accessibility is a huge strategic priority for us at The Open University. Here at Library Services we’ve been working with SensusAccess
https://www.sensusaccess.com/ for a while. SensusAccess is an automated service which converts files from one format to another, for example PDF to text, audio, Word or Braille. There are some details on our website:
https://www.open.ac.uk/libraryservices/pages/sensusaccess/convert-a-file-with-sensus-access
It might be a helpful alternative to purchasing audiobooks?
Let me know if you want me to put you in touch with the team who are working on this.
Best,
Selena.

Subject: Audiobooks and reading lists
Morning all,
I was wondering if anyone has experimented with using audiobooks as part of their library collections and would be willing to share their experiences?
Staff in one our academic departments are currently very interested in
universal design of learning. They’ve started doing targeted work on student reading habits in particular, and have identified audiobooks as a possible way to support their students, many of whom are mature, juggling study with family demands, and are
often commuting to the university
It's not something I’ve come across before in an academic context so any experience/thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Sarah
