GIS Officer - £30,180 - £31,938 per annum Temporary post (funding) until 31/03/2020 (Full time, 37hpw) Flexible working, full time, part time and job share applications will be considered Based at HQ, Portishead (BS20 8JJ) Avon and Somerset Constabulary has been recognized as national leaders in the UK police service for exploiting data through advanced analytics techniques, Geographic information systems (GIS) and interactive dashboards. We are looking or a driven and enthusiastic GIS officer to expand our GIS team capacity and maximise growth in the usage of spatial data and innovative GIS applications within the constabulary. The role will work alongside the GIS Manager within the Business Intelligence team, in police headquarters in Portishead, and will consist in providing support for geographic services portfolio including but not exclusively: · Managing and maintaining a central geospatial datasets repository · Building processes and workflows to automate data maintenance. · Supporting/ training and expanding our ArcGIS enterprise solution through developing bespoke web map applications and building geo-processing tools · Supporting the force corporate gazetteer system.
