Hi all,

We use a program called Read & Write Gold that has a feature of applying full or partial screen coloured overlays. It lets students choose a colour for this and the degree of opacity/transparency. It has many other features too (word prediction for dyslexia etc.) but works great with anything in a VLE.

I think you can get other things as well (a few links below) but I haven’t tried any of these. They may be worth exploring?

Hope this is of some use!

Old school analogue method of sticking an appropriately coloured acetate sheet over the screen?

Hi All,
I'm just looking to see if anyone has any suggestions on how to allow
students with resonable adjustments the ability to change the background
colour in Bb Tests from white to off white (colour of their choice
depending on the best one for them).

I thought turning on the windows high contrast setting and turning on the
setting in Bb that says it will bring in the OS high contrast setting would
work - it doesn't seem to (see attached image).

Has anyone got any suggestions / has anyone done this before?

The only alternative I can think of is a coloured acetate taped on the
display.
Thanks in advance,

Thank you Laura, I can get this on for the students using the chrome
extension - I had hoped to avoid extensions as this could open up the
option for student to add any extension they liked to the chrome browser -
which would then pose exam invigilation issues.  I have tested this and it
looks good so thank you for the help.

HI,

Same as Laura I would usually advice an AT or plugin.

There's also an extension for Chrome called blue light filter guard which has different colour options depending on their particular need:  https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/blue-light-filter-guard/kkkdnikbcmebldaglhjpdkanfnmpjhak?utm_source=gmail
