Data Manager/Statistician for National Maternity and Perinatal Audit (NMPA) Lindsay Stewart Centre for Audit and Clinical Informatics, Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists In collaboration with London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Part-time (21hrs per week) 1 year fixed term contract, possible extension £33,256 - £39,900 depending on experience, plus excellent benefits This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced data manager/statistician who is keen to develop a career in the growing field of health care performance assessment. The Lindsay Stewart Centre for Audit and Clinical Informatics at the RCOG is seeking to appoint a part-time data manager/statistician to be part of a multidisciplinary team of staff conducting the National Maternity and Perinatal Audit (NMPA). The NMPA evaluates the quality of care received by women and babies cared for by NHS maternity services in England, Wales and Scotland. Its aim is to compare the care provided and outcomes achieved by these units across a range of audit measures. The role will involve working with the NMPA team to manage and organise linked national datasets, and to design and implement statistical analyses. The successful candidate will have: * Excellent quantitative and statistical skills * Experience of managing large databases * Experience of working within a multidisciplinary context * An interest in health care performance assessment and quality improvement * A Bachelor-level degree or higher in a quantitative discipline is required * Knowledge of data protection and information security principles This post will be based in the Lindsay Stewart Centre for Audit and Clinical Informatics at the RCOG. The Lindsay Stewart Centre's remit is to support quality improvement of obstetric and gynaecological services within the specialty by carrying out high-quality national audits and developing and publishing national performance indicators for obstetrics and gynaecology. The NMPA is funded by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership. It is carried out in partnership with the Royal College of Midwives and Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
