The solution to MS408 has been found and it is already being used by many southern European scholars to translate the text for their research. It never had an index and it is not written in code - just a previously unknown language (proto-Romance) and a previously unknown alphabet (proto-Italic). The contents of the manuscript are mainly about herbal remedies in association with 15th century religious beliefs, which is why the information was posted.

I'm going to be less polite than everyone else and say that this latest "solution" is considerably less plausible than previous suggestions. I don't for a minute believe in "proto-Romance", "proto-Italic" or "Pagan beliefs".
