Hello Peter, Thanks for your message - very good to hear from you. No, my interest hasn’t waned a bit although I am no longer actively collecting all sorts of maps and I’m in the process of rationalizing what I’ve accumulated over the last half century. Recently, two very close friends have been diagnosed with terminal cancer with only months to live. It focuses the mind! Finding appropriate homes takes time as you can imagine but I’ve been pleased to deposit a fair amount with the CCS Archive via Roger Hellyer, and I’ve also passed a few items to the Bodleian and local a NT house. Amazing what I’ve rediscovered in the course of digging out a few known treasures. Sadly the DSA seminar and the DGC annual staff reunion clash this year (how?!!) but I plan to split my time between the two. Sorry to miss you there - we’re all very busy people these days (as ever) but I’m sure our paths will cross some time later in the year. I do hope so. All best wishes Sent from my iPhone > On 19 Apr 2018, at 11:05, Peter Collier <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > > Hi Brian, > > I hope the discarding of old issue of the cartographic Journal doesn't mean you are giving up your interest in cartography. I have a full run, but hopefully someone will want the old issues on offer. Unfortunately, I am tied up on the day of the DSA seminar, so I will not be able to make it this year. I hope to see you and catch up at some point. > > Best wishes, > > Peter > > > Dr Peter Collier > Department of Geography > University of Portsmouth > Portsmouth > PO1 3HE > +44 23 92839652 > >> On 18 April 2018 at 22:05, Brian Garvan <[log in to unmask]> wrote: >> For anyone out there who joined the BCS some time after it was founded and is still collecting hard copy of the CJ, this may be a rare opportunity to fill a few gaps in the volumes from the early years. I have single copies of the issues listed below and I would be delighted if they could be re-homed. The alternative is that they suffer the indignity of being carted off with my paper recycling. >> >> 1964 June and December >> 1965 June and December >> 1966 December only >> >> 1970 } >> to } June and December >> 1982 } >> >> 1983 June only. >> >> Please reply to the email address below. >> >> >> Brian Garvan >> [log in to unmask] >
