Dear Information Professionals

*Apologies for cross-posting – still a few places remaining*

CILIP in the Thames Valley has the opportunity to take 12 visitors on a tour of the Concrete Society's library and information service in Surrey on Wednesday next week

The Concrete Society is a member-based body with no affiliation to trade or corporate organisations, and is proud to be recognised as independent. The Society has built on its technical base to become a leading provider of information serving the needs of clients, architects, engineers, specifiers, suppliers, contractors and users of concrete, with an emphasis on quality and competitiveness. The library and information service contains a wealth of valuable information. Its catalogue of over 156,000 indexed publications is known as “Concrete Vault” and is available online. The library also provides daily news alerts for the industry, monthly ‘Concrete Standards’ and ‘Concrete Current Awareness’ bulletins, a loans and photocopying service and also undertakes technical and market research from published sources.
