Best wishes Debbie The Department of Psychology is looking to recruit a Teaching Fellow for a fixed term period of 12 months, starting the 1st of September 2018. This post is to cover the teaching and supervision responsibilities for an academic member of staff on maternity leave. The position will primarily involve the delivery of teaching, supervision and assessment at postgraduate level, on the MSc in Developmental Psychopathology and the MA Research Methods (Developmental Psychology). The successful candidate will be working mainly within a vibrant postgraduate student community in the Department of Psychology. We have a suite of well-established postgraduate taught programmes which recruit approximately 50 students each year. The successful candidate will work primarily with students on the MSc in Developmental Psychopathology and MA Research Methods (Developmental Psychology) programmes, which tend to recruit approximately 30 excellent home/EU and international students each year. These programmes have an excellent track record of providing advanced research training (theoretical and practical) for students in the area of developmental psychopathology (including, for example, focussing on developmental disorders and mental health). Students on our programmes tend to pursue careers in clinical or educational psychology, and research careers in developmental psychology/psychopathology. The work of the Centre for Developmental Disorders in the Department of Psychology also feeds into these Masters programmes (e.g. through seminars and public lectures). The successful candidate will work as part of the postgraduate teaching team to deliver teaching across modules on these programmes (including subject specific Developmental Psychopathology topics as well as generic research skills). The post will involve a significant teaching and supervision load, including during the summer period. The appointment will be on the University’s “Teaching Track” career path, which provides clearly defined opportunities for progression against defined criteria. The Teaching Fellow will be free to follow their research interests where other duties allow but research activity is not part of the job description.
