Seminar: Johanna Schipper on her Graphic Novels

For the second seminar in the 'Sketching/Scripting Women' series, the Centre for the Study of Contemporary Women's Writing<https://modernlanguages.sas.ac.uk/research-centres/centre-study-contemporary-womens-writing> and University of London Institute in Paris are pleased to welcome artist Johanna Schipper<http://www.johannaschipper.com/>. A graphic novel artist and translator, Schipper (winner of the first 'Artemisia Prize for Women's Francophone Graphic Novels' for her work Nos âmes sauvages (2008)), will speak about her career as a graphic novel creator and the changing status of women's artistic production within the medium. Please note that the guest speaker will be presenting in French and the Q&A will be both in English and French.

This event forms part of the University of London's year-long celebrations, Leading Women<https://london.ac.uk/about-us/leading-women-1868-2018>, marking 150 years since the first female students were admitted into higher education in the UK.
