Dear colleagues,

Apologies for duplicate postings.

With the 23:50 EST March 30th deadline almost upon us, this is your final chance to submit an abstract  to session 03i, on the broad theme of 'Early Earth processes’ at Goldschmidt 2018 (August 12–17) in Boston.

Richard Carlson (Carnegie Institution of Washington) will deliver the Keynote, along with invited talks from Hanika Rizo (Carleton University) and Aaron Cavosie (Curtin University).

"Uniformitarianism is one of the founding precepts of geology. However, although much debated, there is a growing body of evidence that some fundamental change came about in the Earth system around 3 billion years ago, which may relate to the global onset of plate tectonics. Although the nature of the evidence becomes increasingly cryptic with increasing age, deciphering the Hadean and early Archaean geological record is fundamental to better understanding the processes that operated in and on the early Earth. We seek contributions under the broad umbrella of ‘early Earth processes’ examining the origin and evolution of the mantle, crust, oceans, atmosphere and life in the Hadean and Archaean eons.”

Cheers,
