Dear colleagues,

we are recruiting a research fellow to work in the Department of Sociology and Social Research of the University of Milano Bicocca to contribute to the project: Aging in a networked society. The post holder will assist Professor Emanuela Sala in the research, taking responsibility for the analysis of cross-sectional and longitudinal data from various European surveys  (e.g. Share, Eurobarometer etc.) and drafting research papers.

Duties of the post include: 

-analysis of cross-sectional and longitudinal survey data, 

-writing research reports, 

-carry out literature reviews,

- write co-authored papers, 

-collaboration to the organisation and participation to the dissemination activities,

- assistance with the day-to-day management of the project,

- participation to research meetings, 

-participation in training activities. 


The successful candidate must have::

-a PhD in Sociology, Economics, Statistics of other relevant disciplines

-Excellent quantitative data analysis skills

-Competence in advanced multivariate quantitative analysis

-Experience of using one of the following software: SPSS, STATA, R  

-Proven ability to work independently

-Experience of working collaboratively

-Publication record in  peer-reviewed journals, commensurate with stage in career.


A basic knowledge of Italian would be desirable..
