Job Title: Faculty Positions in Smart City Development Department: Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Job Posting Details The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is actively forming the Center for GREAT Smart City. The acronym for GREAT is Green, Resilient, Empowering, Adaptable, and Transformative. In this connection, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering will have five faculty positions to advance the underpinning science and technology for smart city development. Specifically, we are seeking candidates with a solid background in infrastructural and environmental engineering, and a particular focus on: * System integration and modeling * Sustainability * Renewable energy * Big data analytics * Remote sensing * Structural system automation * Public policy formulation and analysis We invite applications for substantiation-track faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank. Appointment at the Professor rank may also be considered for candidates with very strong academic record and international recognition. Applicants must have a PhD degree in civil or a related engineering discipline. The appointee is expected to demonstrate strong potential for effective teaching and promising research, as well as play a key role in the development of projects in both fundamental and applied research.
