Dear Gemmers,

Join the Research Centre for Museums and Galleries (RCMG) for a conference exploring how museums can support older people to live and age well.

Unexpected Encounters Conference: Museums Nurturing Living and Ageing Well
25 April, 10am – 4.15pm
26 April, 9am – 2pm (limited numbers available for those interested in planning and development)
Manchester Museum

Across the world populations are ageing as life expectancy increases and fertility rates decline. What roles can museums play in supporting older people to live and age well? Focusing specifically on natural heritage collections, this conference will raise questions about how museums can rethink models of ageing and their relationship with older people. This conference grows out of, and will share findings from, the action research project Encountering the Unexpected: Older people, nature and natural heritage collections.

To find out more about the conference see the flyer below and click here, and for details of how to book your place click here.

Please share details of the conference with any colleagues who you think might be interested.

Best wishes

RCMG
