Sanctuary Hosting is recruiting for a Part time, Temporary Service Manager Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 (pro rata) Location: Various locations in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire Hours: The post is 2.5 days per week. Fixed term contract: 1 year (to provide maternity cover for the existing post-holder). Sanctuary Hosting matches homeless asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants to people with spare rooms and open hearts in the community, who are prepared to have someone to stay with them rent free for a pre-defined period of time. This Service Manager role is an exciting opportunity to oversee the development and management of this successful and innovative service across the Thames Valley area. In this role you will have responsibility for ensuring the service is safe and effective, working closely with the Sanctuary Hosting Management Committee. You will manage a Service Co-ordinator (currently part time) and have overall responsibility for recruiting, training, supporting and supervising all of Sanctuary Hosting’s volunteers and any other appointed staff. You will also have lead responsibility for assessing and responding to guest referrals and coordinating, facilitating and supporting hosting placements. You will proactively promote the service through attending relevant forums, meetings and events and giving presentations about its work. You will also have responsibility for ensuring the service meets the funding requirements of the various grant giving bodies that support it. To be successfully appointed to this role you will need experience of developing and delivering high quality, confidential, user-centred services for vulnerable people. You will also need to have working knowledge of provisions relating vulnerable people, in particular refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants. You will need to have experience of supervising volunteers and, ideally, staff. You will also need strong partnership working, fundraising, communication, organisational and IT skills. A current driving licence valid for use in the UK, access to your own vehicle and ability to travel across the Thames Valley area as needed, is an essential requirement. You will also need to be able to work flexibly, including undertaking out of hours and weekend work as required.
