My post should of course say and 'ever a true gentleman.' I suspect that Walter had the same view of predictive text as I do lol

Dear All

I am greatly saddened to learn that our colleague at the LSE Professor Walter Holland has passed away. Walter was a giant of public health research and had a great influence on many generations of health professionals, public health researchers and policy makers. I have attached  a link to a blog at the LSE which speaks very eloquently on his life and work. Personally I shall always remember the emphasis he placed on learning from and not forgetting the past in health policy and public health research – too often we have short term institutional memories and repeat the mistakes of past or fail to replicate solutions to address contemporary heath concerns.

The blog is available at

Those who wish can leave post their own memories of Walter on this web page.
