Hello All
A representative of the family that own the collection of Macclesfield School of Carving furniture contacted me last week to say that they are looking for a new home for their furniture. Its not something we can take here as its outside of our collecting policy (and far too fancy).
The furniture built in fumed oak in the early 1900s and decorated with exquisite carving has its roots firmly established within the William Morris tradition. The collection had previously been on loan to Charles Roe House in Macclesfield but new owners now don't have the capacity to house the furniture collection.
If anyone has any ideas about where this collection could go, or need further details please contact Peter Davis-Merry [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>
