Postdoctoral Positions in the Neuromanagement Lab at Zhejiang University

 

The Neuromanagement Lab at Zhejiang University is seeking applicants for multiple postdoctoral positions. Candidates will be considered from a range of disciplines, including but not limited to management, economics, psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and medical science.

 

The Neuromanagement Lab


The Neuromanagement Lab at Zhejiang University was founded in 2006 as one of the first labs in China specialized in exploring brain activities and mental processes underlying managerial and economic decision making. It is a key laboratory at Zhejiang University.


The interdisciplinary team consists of more than 30 professors and postgraduates. The lab is equipped with multiple state-of-the-art and research dedicated facilities for fMRI, brain stimulation, behavioral measurement, EEG, and eye-tracking. The main research areas include decision neuroscience, neuroeconomics, neuromarketing, neuro-industrial engineering, and neuro-information system. Researchers at the lab investigate these topics using a combination of behavioral experiments, brain imaging methods, neuro-modulation techniques, and computational approaches.


Reflecting its interdisciplinarity, the lab is closely intertwined with the hospitals and other departments at Zhejiang University. The lab also maintains strong collaboration with other labs in the world. The lab, as well as the School of Management more generally, offers a friendly and collaborative environment. Moreover, the lab organizes weekly group meetings, regular seminars and international symposiums, such as the biennial International Conference on Neuromanagement and Neuroeconomics.

Qualifications


The successful candidates should have excellent record of research experience and have completed (or be about to complete) a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline preferably within the last 3 years. The candidate should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Experience of using MATLAB, E-prime, Python, and R would be considered as an asset.

 

Duties and Responsibilities


The successful candidates will be expected to collaborate with the mentor, contribute to ongoing research projects, write papers and grants, start new lines of research, and assist in supervising postgraduates and administrative duties as assigned. The candidates will also have flexibility and independence on their own research projects.

 

Compensation


Salary and benefits is competitive. The annual salary for the first year is higher than 200, 000 CNY (around 30,000 USD) and can be increased for candidates with exceptional qualifications in the following years. Travel grant and housing benefits are available.


The term of the postdoctoral position will be 2-3 years by mutual agreement. Excellent postdocs who have worked more than 3 years in the lab have the priority to get the professorship at Zhejiang University.
