Special Issue on Improvisational Creativity (Volume 29, Number 1. Published February 2018)
Guest Editors: Jon McCormack, Toby Gifford, Shelly Knotts
This special issue will examine the challenges and opportunities for creative improvisation between people and computer systems. We welcome contributions from researchers, theorists and creative practitioners actively involved in this emerging area. Submissions may encompass the technical, creative, social or critical aspects of improvisation with computer systems, and we encourage trans-disciplinary and non-traditional approaches to this topic.
Submission to this special issue is a two-stage process. Authors interested in contributing are invited to submit an extended abstract (500 words) for review. Authors who’s abstracts are accepted will then be invited to submit a full paper (up to 7000 words). Full papers will then be double blind peer reviewed for acceptance into the special issue. Note that acceptance of abstract alone does not imply acceptance for publication in the journal.
Abstract deadline: 28 July 2017
