Applications are invited for an Associate professor in the field cognitive neurosciences with special emphasis on methodological expertise in human neuroscience, with the aim of integration of behavioural and developmental sciences with brain imaging (particularly
MEG/EEG). The position is filled as a fixed-term associate professorship of five years (tenure track).
The applicant will join the Centre for Interdisciplinary Brain Research at University of Jyväskylä (http://cibr.jyu.fi/en/). The centre focuses on interdisciplinary brain research, foremost on lifelong changes in
brains in context of learning and development, interventions and wellbeing, and physical exercise. The infrastructure of the centre includes EEG and MEG laboratories as well as facilities in neurophysiology and psychobiology. It has also access to MRI-scanner.
The duties of the associate professor include research in the field of cognitive neuroscience, especially brain development across the life span. The appointee shall develop independent research utilising the research infrastructure provided by the Centre
for Interdisciplinary Brain Research, Department of Psychology, and affiliated networks. The appointee should also engage in active development of the field, including supervision of theses, promoting interdisciplinary research and acquiring competitive research
funding, including EU, ERC, and Academy of Finland.
We are looking for a candidate with doctoral degree in the field of neuroscience or related field (such as signal processing, cognitive science, psychology, biology) and international top-level research qualifications. Ideal candidate is in a stage of
active career development. Successful candidate will possess active international collaboration in his/her field of expertise, has strong experience in supervising doctoral students and directing research, as well as teaching in the relevant content areas.
