Good afternoon,
I would be very interested in hearing the views of the group on the use of “free” online services such as Kahoot! which I am increasingly seeing being introduced to education environments. In the case of Kahoot!
each user needs an account, and the service typically provides an online educational game/quizzing environment for learners in a classroom to interact with. Naturally, signing up for an account requires various information to be provided, and for anyone over
13, this includes personal information.
With GDPR covering things like IP addresses, and services like Kahoot! storing data outside of the EU, I am concerned that by teaching staff encouraging the use of such services we may find ourselves exposed
to a number of data protection risks.
Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated.
