We have an opening for an MR Physicist at UC Irvine.  We have a human 3T Philips Achieva, a 3T Siemens Prisma (installation date July 1st), and a Brucker 9.4T animal scanner.  This position will be supporting investigators in the MR research but will also allow the individual to apply for grants and do some individual research.

Description: This employee will serve as MR Physicist for the Facility for Imaging and Brain Research (FIBRE) at the University of California, Irvine. FIBRE provides state of the art MRI imaging for neuroscience research purposes here at UCI. The incumbent is responsible for assuring the safe, effective, and compliant use of the MRI scanning equipment. Additional responsibilities include daily operation and maintenance of the MR scanner, technical research and development of new pulse sequences, image reconstruction techniques, and appropriate use of image analysis algorithms. The MR Physicist will also be responsible for MRI image analysis consulting for interested users.
