Assistant Curator (Collections Access) – Maternity Cover

 

Salary: £18,500 per annum

Temporary Contract upto 12 months

 

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to promote public access to our designated collections. With a background in an established museum or heritage environment, you will be principal point of contact for all collection related public enquiries.  You will undertake the documentation, care and storage of the accessioned collections. 

 

You will work within the Collections Team, supported by dedicated volunteers, and expected to provide support to colleagues across that organisation.  Experience of working with social and industrial collections is essential, as is knowledge of current standards and methods of collections management.

 

Closing date for receipt of applications: Monday 22 May 2017.

 

Interviews will take place at the Museum w/c 5 June 2017.

 

Team Manager (Industry & Transport)

 

Salary: £22,000 – £24,000 per annum

 

Permanent contract

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Museum for a Team Manager for our Industry & Transport team.

 

This is a key people management role, requiring great interpersonal skills and the ability to balance priorities of the team with those of our visitors at all times. Knowledge and understanding of the industry and transport sector in a heritage context is essential as is the ability to ensure our staff are engaged, motivated and equipped to deliver the fascinating stories of the rich heritage of the Black Country.

 

Some form of managerial experience in a cultural, heritage or leisure organisation of a similar size and complexity is a pre-requisite and you will be keen to develop new and creative ideas to continue to being our site to life.
