Summer School Sustainable Housing from a European Perspective
Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands

THEME
The summer school focuses on sustainable housing development and deals with environmental as well as economic and social sustainability. How do housing markets work and how do governments intervene? How can the affordability, quality and energy efficiency of the housing stock be improved? The course will give insight in the European perspective on the development of a sustainable housing stock by presenting European and national goals, policies, regulations, assessment tools, process innovations and management approaches.

PARTICIPATION
We invite Bachelor students, Master students and PhD students in their final year with background knowledge and research interests on sustainable housing and the built environment. There are limited places available. The summer school aims to attract international participants in the field of sustainable housing and built environment. The first edition of the summer school in 2016 successfully attracted participants worldwide. A quick geographical overview of participants’ profile: Hong Kong, China, Brazil, Mexico, Italy, United Kingdom, Germany, South Africa, Nigeria, Australia, Antigua and Barbuda. 

FEES
The programme is designed to suit for the expectations of the participants with flexibility of attending for two weeks the complete programme or just for one week. For the complete programme of two weeks, the registration fee is 1200 Euro. You may also choose to stay for one week (either week 1 or 2) for 800 Euro. Lunch and coffee breaks are included. A Pizza night will be organised on Wednesday evening of week One. A one-day field trip will be arranged with a coach on Week Two. Evening meals and accommodations will be at your own expense. 

CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION
In either case, the full attendance to the part of the course that the student choses is the prerequisite for receiving the certificate of participation.

APPLICATION
Your application should include a convincing motivation letter, a short CV (2 pages maximum) and a summary of research interests (1 page maximum). Please submit your application by 30 April 2017 to Martine de Jong-Lansbergen ([log in to unmask]), secretary congress office.

SELECTION
Due to the limited places available, the selection will be given priority to the applicants who make the earlier submission. The first selection result will be announced on 8 May 2017.

VENUE
Main location: Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, Delft University of Technology, Delft, the Netherlands.
Lectures will also take place outside the Faculty of Architecture on other locations on Delft University of Technology.
