The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, is seeking a Research Scientist or Research Associate with extensive expertise in magnetic resonance neuroimaging—ideally including protocol design, acquisition, preprocessing, and analysis. The appropriate candidate is looking for a position that well combine the opportunity to carry out independent research with support for ongoing research projects involving patients with behavioral disorders and healthy individuals, across the life span. In addition, the position will involve providing training and supervision to research coordinators and graduate students.

Job Summary:   This position will support neuroimaging efforts with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience. The Department’s mission is to study the pathophysiology and treatment of behavioral illnesses including mood and anxiety disorders, psychoses, disorders of cognition, and substance abuse disorders. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to work independently, as well as to contribute to publications and grant applications.

Qualifications:    

Research Scientist Level

M.D. and/or Ph.D. with relevant experience.  This level will allow but not require applications for independent grant funding.

 

Research Associate Level

Master’s Degree in related field with relevant experience.

 

The ideal candidate at either level will have extensive expertise in multiple areas of neuroimaging, including fMRI, MRS, DTI, and structural MRI.
