Apologies for cross posting.

Dear Colleagues,

Now in its third year, the UK EQUATOR Centre, part of the internationally recognised EQUATOR Network (http://www.equator-network.org/) is holding its unique flagship summer writing school. Our simple aim is to improve the quality and completeness of research publications so they are useful, usable and accessible to all.

This week-long residential course has attracted participants from all over the world, and we are delighted to be holding it again at St Catherine’s College in the centre of Oxford.

The course is designed for both new and more experienced health researchers, research leaders, and medical writers wishing to achieve success in writing, publishing and disseminating research through traditional journals, and other channels. Participants will build skills and confidence in a supportive and friendly learning environment, led by a team of experienced and renowned tutors such as Liz Wager and Doug Altman.

Participants will learn how to write key sections of research articles making optimal use of reporting guidelines such as CONSORT, STROBE, and PRISMA, and the importance of writing and publishing protocols. It also covers targeting the right journal, dealing with peer review, and writing for health practitioners and the public.

“It was an excellent workshop and I shared the main take-home messages with colleagues. It helped me a lot, even after years of this kind of thing, to put my thoughts in order”

“Thank you for the inspiration and energy that you have given me to go back home to my students and colleagues and tell them again and again about EQUATOR”
