Epidemiological Analyst

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Fantastic opportunity for an Epidemiologist to join an established, respected and leading Industry Consultancy as their Epidemiological Analyst. The role is offered on a permanent basis and is office based to the West of London in the M4 / M40 Corridor.

 

BACKGROUND:

 

Our Client is an established and recognised leading consultancy in Real World Evidence. Their team of high calibre experts develop and implement projects that drive an improvement in patient care and benefit the Life-science Industry as well as the NHS.

 

The role is office based to the West of London sitting in the M4 / M4O corridor. Ideally you will need to drive for this position.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES:

 

The role of Epidemiological Analyst will see you contribute to the development and successful delivery of observational Real World Data collection projects for both NHS and pharmaceutical industry clients.  More specifically, to input into study design, conduct analysis and report results for non-interventional research projects.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

 

·         Offer strategic epidemiological input during the development of project proposals in response to client and NHS needs.

·         Substantial involvement in developing study analysis plans in line with agreed project objectives.

·         Develop the appropriate data collection materials and data management tools to support subsequent data analysis and reporting.

·         Undertake data analysis in line with pre-specified analysis plans and in response to collected data, with a focus on analysis of “Big Data” sets, including on-site data analysis in an accredited Safe Haven.

·         Apply appropriate advanced statistical methods to adjust for confounding to large data sets and offer statistical advice to colleagues as required.

·         Write study reports and perform quality checks on reports produced by other members of the team.

·         Attend client and investigator meetings to discuss data and present results.

·         Assist with wider presentation and dissemination of data through supporting the drafting of abstracts, posters and manuscripts.

·         Mentor and train colleagues in statistical and epidemiological concepts and techniques as appropriate.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

·         A degree in bio-statistics or epidemiology

·         Experience of working with the analysis and reporting of healthcare data, either in the NHS, a CRO, Pharma industry or academia / presenting data in a variety of formats, appropriate to different audiences e.g. reports, presentations

·         Advanced IT skills –  Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access & a Statistical Analysis package

·         Knowledge of health-related information systems and national healthcare data-sets such as HES, CPRD, national registries etc.
