Temporary – eleven months, full time
This is a unique opportunity to use your records management expertise and organisational skills to help support the preservation of the information for some of the greatest palaces ever built. You will handle a huge range of digital and physical records, including photographs that relate to our highly-specialised conservation work. You will ensure that these records and archive assets are organised to records management standards and practices, and are accessible. You’ll also deliver a quality service to anyone needing to access this information.
A big part of your work will be writing guidance, delivering training and promoting the principles and practices of industry standard management of records and information to staff across Historic Royal Palaces. Running a champions network for Information Management, you will contribute to the embedding of a new retention schedule which is just part of our drive to become an organisation that practices correct records management.
To meet a challenge like this, you’ll need an information management qualification, ideally gained in a heritage, museum, gallery or library environment. Knowledge of records management and cataloguing are essential too. What’s more, you should have great time-management skills, a customer-focused approach, good attention to detail and a genuine interest in our conservation work.
Although based at Hampton Court Palace, there will be an occasional requirement to work at other palaces.
