What are the odds? An interactive workshop in sports modelling

At ATASS Sports, we apply cutting-edge statistical and mathematical techniques to forecast the results of sporting events, and this July were running a special PhD-level workshop to offer a unique glimpse into this exciting domain.

 

So, if youre a PhD student or a recent postdoc in mathematics or statistics, why not come and try your hand at developing computational models for live sporting events with some of the leading researchers in the field?

 

During the two-day workshop, well explore how statistical modelling can be used to predict sporting outcomes, and youll have the chance to work hands-on with real data under the guidance of our expert statisticians. And of course, youll also get to sample the very best of West Country hospitality.

 

Hotel accommodation and travel expenses will be provided, along with entertainment on the Thursday evening.

 

Places are limited and will be allocated on a competitive basis.
