One caveat I think… As we always knew - adding a wysiwyg editor has proved a very popular addition and offers many more advantages than disadvantages - but has also already resulted in some example with weird and wondeful (or rather not so wonderful) combinations of colours and sizes! :-( Subjective comment I know but one of my top tips for version 3.1x, especially as we now have responsive text in the main XOT template is - don't apply localised font sizes on individual pages - colours yes (sparingly) but sizes no, unless for very specific need e.g. a small tip or extra note. This came up during training over the last couple of days and at the very least the advice is to try to only use the Heading styles rather than specific sizes e.g. H3 not 16pt. Moving to 3.1 from 2.0 is like going from seeing in black and white to colour. The new editor is a huge step forward. http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/toolkits/documentation/v3ReleaseNotes.pdf Come to the Xerte Conference on April 14th! Hi We’re still on Xerte 2.0 as well, and wondering if it’s worth upgrading or not (we did a lot of OU customisation for 2.0, which would all have to be recreated in 3.0). What are the benefits of 3.0 as opposed to 2.0? Does it provide any more functionality in the authoring interface? Interested in views from the community. Hi all We're really eager to update our Xerte server installation from version 2 to 3.1 but some of our colleagues are a bit reluctant. In order to persuade them, I wanted to point to comparable institutions which have already updated. If any of you work in a larger institution which has already updated to version 3 or 3.1, it would be great if you could let me know so I can compile a list.
