Amec Foster Wheeler’s Information Management team consists of 170 GIS, remote sensing and database specialists who work to integrate spatial data into building and land management decision making for our clients.  

We are currently recruiting for a full time GIS Analyst for a potential 1 year project that would be starting in August 2016 to be based at our client site in Grafenwöhr, Germany.  The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of services to the US Army Sustainable Range Program and would require limited travel to military training facilities.  Extensions to the project could be provided in additional 1 year intervals.  

The Sustainable Range Program GIS Support Analysts are responsible for providing direct GIS support to the US military civilian and military personnel at Training Support Centers in Germany (Baumholder, Stuttgart, Kaiserslautern, Ansbach, Wiesbaden), the Benelux region, Italy (Vicenza and Livorno) and for the Expeditionary Training Support Center, which coordinates training exercises in Bulgaria, Romania and other Eastern European and African countries at the request of US Army Europe.

The GIS Analysts are responsible for creating and updating all standard SRP map products for these areas, as well as coordinating and carrying out data acquisition on and standardization for these installations. These individuals are also responsible for coordinating development of GIS data products for German Military (Bundeswehr) Training Areas, acquired through liaison with the Bundeswehr Geo-Information office. They are also the responsible POC for handling custom map requests for training areas in Germany, Italy, and the BENELUX region (outside of Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels)

Key Responsibilities 
•Implement GIS management plans prepared by the GIS Manager
•Import, create, and update digital data layers, creating and updating maps
•Monitor system performance, installing software and hardware, and performing periodic backups
•Develop, compile, and/or manipulate remotely sensed multi-spectral data utilizing topography
•Manage data associated with with military training areas, live fire ranges, cultural resources, vegetative communities, threatened/endangered species, aquatic habitat types, and floodplain delineation
•Produce a variety of GIS products including, but not limited to, analysis, reports, maps, and other documentation of GIS analysis
•Research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in GPS and GIS technology
•Evaluate technology for potential use, recommend use of new technology, and implement technology found to be justified
•Ensure that GIS databases are collected, reported, and organized according to Federal regulations

Skills/ Qualifications
•	Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in a Geography, Cartography, Geodesy, or Environmental Sciences
•	Around 3 years project oriented experience in a similar role or 2 years with a higher degree
•	Be a fluent user of the most current releases of GIS and productivity software to include Oracle, ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, ESRI ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, ERDAS Imagine, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
•	Experience working with ArcGIS Servers and Microsoft Server administration is advantageous
•	Knowledge of Tri-Service Data Standards and other US Federal GIS data standards is advantageous
