The Arthur Rank Centre, an ecumenical Christian charity which supports rural communities and churches, is looking for a qualitative researcher to continue a project looking at leadership and the development of lay ministry in rural multi-church
groups of different denominations. The previous researcher has had to withdraw for health reasons, so the ARC is looking for someone to start as soon as possible and complete the work within the next six months.

The research consists mostly of phone interviews with perhaps two focus groups. There are about 10 interviews to complete with about 12 completed. The focus groups need to be convened. There would be help with preparing transcripts and
transcribing notes and other recordings. In addition there needs to be a more extensive literature review than there has been currently and a gap analysis completed on resources relevant to the development of the ministry of lay people.

Id be grateful if you could pass this on to anyone you know who might be interested. To enquire about the post please contact Jill Hopkinson, National Rural Officer for the Church of England, at

Many thanks and best wishes for a very happy 2016,
