This Protestant does.
But then the Church of England is not a fully reformed church. If I wanted Calvinism I would probably attend a Baptist or Presbyterian church.

Protestants don’t pray for the deceased (for Calvinists, since these things have been ordained by God, there’s nothing much you can do about it), but I don’t see a problem with “rest in peace,” since it expresses the hope of salvation.

Requiescat in pace is certainly part of the liturgy but on a tomb carving it would be more normal to have 'Orate pro anima ...' and/or 'Cuius anime deus propitietur'.
Both of these would be technically regarded as 'Popish' after the Reformation in England and Wales but they do still occur in the later 16th century, sometimes on the tombs of known non-Catholics.
Bit of a grey area, really.
Prayer for the dead has come back into the Anglican tradition. I do wonder what some of the reformers (like Latimer and Ridley) would think of having their souls prayed for.

It might be worth checking on the inscriptions of medieval tomb brasses, at least those which survive complete. I would check our copy of Nigel Saul's book on the Cobham family memorials, but it is in circulation just now.

It's definitely a pre-Reformation phrase - 'requiescat in pace' is in the medieval Office of the Dead, and I believe it was used even earlier than that.
The phrase 'may [so-and-so] rest in peace' is used in the Anglican church today.

Good question. I really don't know, but it feels like it could be a phrase that originated before the Reformation.
In the Eastern Orthodox world, we use "May his/her memory be eternal," which is actually a liturgical phrase. My current project that I'm not working on is about Byzantine commemorative rites and theology. The phrase serves as a refrain in the Trisagion for the Dead. It appears elsewhere at least conceptually.
