medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Greetings all,

I'm sure everyone on this list is familiar with the concepts of incubi and succubi, with Merlin the magician, and with the early modern witchcraft trials in which accusations of sleeping with the devil were a standard part of the concept of witchcraft.

I note, however, that we never hear what happened to Merlin"s mother (as far as I know). I'm wondering if there is any medieval pastoral, legal, literary (or other that I haven't thought of!) literature that explicitly warns against having sex with demon, and names a specific fate (automatic damnation, or becoming a demon oneself, for example).

And its not even Halloween yet!
Meg
