I can't resist using a phrase of Bryan's (describing something we should all do if we can!) to tell you that I'm doing popular linguistic science - or, at least, linguistics with a comparatively wide reach - at the moment. I'm this week's curator of the rotation-curation Twitter account @WeTheHumanities.

By the nature of it, it can't be cutting-edge, but you'll see I've already talked linguistically about the language of the current UK election campaign, the placenames of Tyneside, the status of Norman and French, and other things. I can't think why I didn't say earlier on this list that I was doing this - but I'm there until Monday. If you're on Twitter, please follow @WeTheHumanities and retweet! NB this is, of course, a separate account from my personal @hall_damien, if you already follow that (thanks) - this week, I'm mostly on @WeTheHumanities.
