Dear Hille and Colleagues, the surveillance that I am aware of within sub-saharan africa is related to public health. I am thinking of, for example, production of human migration patterns in order to model disease spread, or for prediction of malaria outbreaks. I am only aware of work done in medical literature, so I would also like to know if anyone is aware of critical perspectives, more within the surveillance studies tradition. I am also going to Tanzania soon. I will be in Zanzibar from end of April to September, this year. Although I will be there for personal reasons, I would love to possibly start a collaboration on the topic, and within that geographical area.
