The Royal Statistical Society is holding its latest Journal Club webinar this Thursday, 20th November at 10am, UK time.
The event is sponsored by Quintiles, is free and is open to members and non-members alike.

The theme is 'Social Statistics' and the event has been designed to tie in with the special edition of the journal that was published in February.
Two thought-provoking and complementary papers will be presented by their authors:

Paper:  'The item count method for sensitive survey questions: Modelling criminal behaviour'
Presenters: Jouni Kuha and Jonathan Jackson, London School of Economics and Political Science
Published in the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series C (Applied Statistics), Vol 63 (2), 321-341, February 2014

Paper:  'Which method predicts recidivism best? A comparison of statistical, machine learning and data mining prediction models'
Presenters: Nikolaj Tollenaar,  Ministry of Security and Justice, the Netherlands and Peter van der Heijden, Utrecht University
Published in the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series A (Statistics in Society), Vol 176 (2), 565-584, February 2013.

Dial in and join us on the 20th November to hear the authors present their papers. These are free to access until early December.
You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the discussion and ask questions of the authors over the phone or by email.
