Dear All,

Please find the details below for the PG and ECS workshop to be held on 8th January, 2015 at Imperial Wharf (map attached). The times for the event will be 10 am – 5 pm and lunch will be provided.

The theme of the day will be the Ethics of Representation and the morning workshop will be run by anthropologist of religion, Dr Fiona Bowie, King’s College London.

At the most recent PG/ECS day there were a number of concerns raised about the ethics of representing the people with whom we work or writing about sensitive information that is raised in the research setting. Further issues have been raised about the issues of being insiders or outsiders when we are researching.

Registration is now open.

Early bird BSA members: £10 (till November 30th, thereafter £15)

Early-Bird Socrel Members: £15 (till November 30th, thereafter £20)

Non-members: £35 (details of Socrel and BSA membership are here).

Please could you also send me once registered a brief summary of your research topic and method and  if there are any pressing issues in this area that you would like covered. There will be a peer-to-peer led session in the afternoon, which we can tailor to suit your needs.

Best wishes,

Katie
