Hi Those of you with Education courses may have noticed a problem with the data for this subject. Although I worked out how to fix this, the original sheet doesn’t seem to like being updated whilst people are viewing it, so I’ve simply created a (corrected) copy at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1K4Ay-kia63lEu2uDFihBiJD-qzs-u1b8Ur2bOE_ynPM. Those trying to view this afternoon may have found the original sheet in various poor states. Sorry for that, but I did say there were no promises! The same issue with education existed with the 2014 version, but that has been updated in-situ. HESA haven’t yet updated their published mapping of JACS to subject groups, so if anyone has any knowledge on which JACS codes and UoA have gone into Creative Writing it would be welcome. It’s proven to be quite powerful at interrogating the html of the tables displayed on the web pages and has allowed the data to be extracted into a list. This can be turned into a pivot table or uploaded to a database. These can be downloaded in your format of choice (Excel, csv etc.) from the file menu. As before, this exercise was mainly for my own benefit in learning the API scripting language and is shared without any promise of accuracy or permenancy.
